The Tour de France is underway. Every year since 1985 I’ve followed the Tour — except for the “drug years” in the late 90’s and early 00’s — and the stateside coverage gets better and better. Back in the day, I was luck to get results in the newspaper the day after the stage, or catch a 10 second blurb on the news. Now I can watch stages live in HD (or could if I weren’t at work). Thanks to the internet, I can get the live video feed from Eurosport or France 2. I love Phil and Paul, but listening to Sean Kelly commentate is surreal. And hearing the Tour covered in French completes the experience. There is so much media coverage it’s an endurance race just to keep up with it.
